Our New Theme

Filed under: Uncategorized — Oren @ 9:15 pm

After two weeks of looking at the standard theme that comes with wordpress and trying to change it to my liking; it dawned on me that we need a custom theme, and thanks to the talents of several wonderful artists we now have what you see on this page. The spectacular photo of Mystery Valley was taken by Norman Koren who’s extensive work you can see and purchase by clicking on the artist link. I have a real weakness for native american art and was completely captivated by Navajo Lorraine Black’s stunning baskets, this one being 33 coils and called Rainbow Yeis, a special thanks to Steve Simpson at Twin Rocks trading post for letting us use it here.

Unhappy News

We were all saddened this past Sunday morning when Colleen’s Grandmother, Charlotte Morris’s Mother, passed away about 7:30 am. Sadie Vann was approximately 103 years old and was born on the Navajo reservation in Sunrise Springs AZ., where she lived her entire life along with San Vann until his passing in 1947. She will be missed by all of her family members and warmly welcomed by the creator of all things.

LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE

“It is, in a way, an odd thing to honor those who died in defense of our country, in defense of us, in wars afar away. The imagination plays a trick. We see these soldiers in our mind as old and wise. We see them as something like the Founding Fathers, grave and gray-haired. But most of them were boys when they died, and they gave up two lives, the one they were living and the one they would have lived. When they died, they gave up their chance to be husbands and fathers and grandfathers. They gave up their chance to be revered old men. They gave up everything for our country, for us. And all we can do is remember.” - Ronald Reagan
